Vacuum casting is a technique for making prototypes, which is a master pattern made from CNC or SLA prototype parts to produce silicone molds in a fast and inexpensive manner. Its material is polyurethane. Each silicone mold can replicate 15 to 25 identical parts of the master mold. This type of processing is suitable for low-volume production.
Rapid prototyping processing:
First, prototype is created by 3D printing, and then a patterned silicone mold is made. Finally, use the silicone mold to repeat the bulk of the part.
Specific steps are as follows:

Step 1: Make the master pattern with CNC, SLA or clay statue and make the nozzle.

Step 2: enclose the prototype with wood to prepare the mold.

Step 3: Pour the vacuum liquid silicone into the mold to cover the product.

Step 4: Bake the silicone mold in an oven to accelerate the curing of the mold.

Step 5: Remove the prototype from the mold

Some points of vacuum casting need to pay attention:

Silicone and curing agent should be mixed evenly. The appearance of the mold silica is a flowing liquid. The A component is a silicone and the B component is a curing agent. For example, take 100 grams of silicone resin, add 2 grams of curing agent (Note: silica gel and curing agent must be evenly stirred, if not evenly mixed, the mold will appear uneven drying curing conditions, which will affect the mold life cycle and production capacity, And even cause mold waste.
