What is the SLA Technology?

AN-PROTOTYPE Corporation adopts SLA (stereolithography) technology (a fast molding method which has been studied most deeply, with maturest techniques and widest application), and its process is as follow: use a laser beam controlled by the computer to make point-by-point scanning of the surface of the photosensitive resin material, and the resin folium of the scanning area will go through photopolymerization and then become solidified, thus forming a thin layer on the accessory. Then, use the workbench to move downward a short distance equal to the layer thickness to re-apply a new layer of liquid resin on the resin surface which has been solidified so as to make scanning and processing of the next layer. Then do the procedures above-mentioned over and over again

SLA can be used to make accessories with complex shapes and fine structures, and many parts which are not able to be processed with CNC can be done rapidly with SLA, greatly reducing the workload.

The advantages of the SLA rapid prototyping technology mainly include:

What is the SLS Technology?

Selected Laser Sintering (SLS) adopts the infrared laser to directly sinter powder materials (nylon, nylon glass fiber, carbon fiber nylon, nylon aluminum powder, PS materials and various metal materials including mold steel, titanium alloys, aluminum alloys, CoCrMo alloys, iron-nickel alloys, etc.).

The advantages of the SLS rapid prototyping technology mainly include:

1. Materials may be classified into plastic and metal. Metal parts have forging performance, while plastic parts and injection molded plastic parts have the same performance which may be directly used as a product.
2. SLS powder sintering processing is fast, and the working height reaches 14mm per hour.
3. Without supporting structure, powder materials may be recycled, so it is both environmentally friendly and economized.
